Daddy's the Mayor of Booger City!

I am looking forward to spring, Aidan needs to get out of this house! Listen to what she comes up with, it's pretty funny! (or maybe just to me due to cabin fever)

Little Miss "I don't sing and I don't dance" made up a song today.

I am not sure why it is, but Aidan had declared awhile ago that "I don't sing and I don't dance". It was a very strong and mostly true statement. She doesn't sing in front of people, only by herself in another room or in the back seat of the car. But if you try to sing along with her that's the end of it she gets all discusted and stops. And she only dances in privacy too, except we have now ruined that for her by signing her up for a dance class. We are hoping to get her out of her comfort zone and she is doing fairly well. It's still like pulling teeth to get her to practice or show you any of her moves. If she gives you anything it's very brief. I don't get it, she hasn't always been that way.
Today, there may have been a break through. She came to me (in the bathroom of course) and demaned that I stand in a certain spot and listen to her sing this Halloween (of course!) song she made up. I was of course standing in the far corner of the bathroom, trapped with out my camcorder- my worst nightmare!
After she sang it for me she wanted to sing if for Aladdin, that's when I convinced her to sing it for the camera. It wasn't as cute as the first time, but for me it's always cute and I am so excited that she was willing. So here it is an Aidan Thompson original song:

Fight those winter blahs!

We had a little gathering on Sunday to fight the winter blahs. It was a long December with all the snow and we have been dying to get outside. It warmed up ALOT the week before which made half our snow melt. I was hoping for an inch or two of fresh snow for pretty pics, but that didn't happen. The good news was that we still had plenty of snow to sled, it was just a little dingy.

Last week I opened the front door in the morning to find a dusting of snow and these cute little birdy tracks. I thought they were so sweet and I needed a picture of them. When I went back to take a pic Bob ran out, but didn't get far. His sweet little prints were also worthy of a picture as was he. Isn't he beautiful and always so regal!

Thanks George!

Last week I was reading an article in the Inlander about the state of the economy and the effect on Spokane. I had heard rumors that Trader Joes and Whole Foods were coming, but it never happened. WTF! Well, here it was confirmed they were supposed to move in, but canceled their contracts because of the economy. Instead we are getting a Dress Barn and Red Lobster- BARF!
My other dream is for a Target -NOT A WALMART- to move to the South Hill (my neighborhood). So far nothing has been built up here due to the stinky ol' economy. I have one person to blame...

The Chipmunks

Aidan and I found this CD at the library last week. When I took this CD out of the case I just couldn't believe that it would play. It is the most scratched and beat up CD I have ever seen, it even has a chip on the outer edge. It looks well loved. This CD is in the same shape that I remember my Chipmunks 8-track being when I was a child. I remember playing that 8-track over and over to the point that we had to start wedging a matchbook in the slot with it to get it to play again.
The first song on the CD is "Witch Doctor" and that made Aidan giggle uncontrollably. We listened to that song at least 5 times while Aidan jumped on her trampoline- great song for jumping!
